Dear Maria,

This is Danielle Madsen who stayed with you in April. I just wanted to thank you for all the wonderful kindness and helpfulness you provided not only to myself, but to my best friend Laura, and my two other friends Salmia and Paola.

We stayed three nights with you in all, because our ferry got canceled and ending up spending Easter. (if you don´t remember who I am)

Anyway, just wanted to tell you your generosity is much appreciated and I hope God blesses both of you along with your families! I hope to come back to Santorini very soon and have made my mind up to definitely spend my honeymoon there!!!

May the Lord continue to bless the Villa Odyssy and both of you. I hope to come back very soon.

Sincerely,

Danielle Elisabeth Madsen and Laura Jamison.

Fantastic experience and would repeat it in a hearbeat!

I loved the Villa Oddyssey because it was clean, beautiful, the price was very low, and most imortantly the staff was amazing. The manager George personally picked us up from the port, gave us a tour of the island, and took us wherever we wanted to go. The overlooker Maria was so nice and helpful as well. They both made me fall in love with Greek people because of their accomodative and upbeat personalities. The price to stay at the hotel was very economical and I would love to come back the first chance I get.
I give this hotel an A ++++++
Danielle and Laura

Santorini: Hotel Villa Odyssey: "Super Friendly Hotel"

My new wife and I were greeted at the ferry by a representative of the Odyssey and he convinced us to come check out his hotel. We had not made reservations before arriving so we went and were totally stunned. After the third world nightmare of Athens hostles this place was fantastic. We got a three room suite and breakfast for 5 euros less than the hostel in Athens. I kick myself for not going out to the island sooner, and when we go back to Santorini this spring we will stay here again.

Santorini: Hotel Villa Odyssey: "nice place"

Our stay in the Villa Odessy in Santorini was pleasant enough, our room average size and bathroom the same. But the let down was the bed it was low and very noisy with every move because of the (wooden slats under mattress) Breakfast consisted of some fresh bread, butter, and jam with either tea or coffee and some orange juice. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel and rooms very clean. The staff took great pride in maintaining the cleanliness at all times.

Santorini: Hotel Villa Odyssey: "Great room at Villa Odyssey"

We had one of our nicest rooms at Villa Odyssey in Sept. We were extremely tired-no sleep from air flights- when we arrived. Maria let us into our room several hours early without us asking. We were meeting friends coming in from Crete the next day and we were having a difficult time connecting. Maria was great about taking messages for us and looking up phone numbers. When we arrived, it was another surprise to find out we had a suite instead of a regular room for the same price. It was a clean, spacious and quiet room with restaurants right across the street with good food. The walk into Fira wasn't bad; 15-20 minutes, slightly inclined going toward Fira. If you are not staying in Fira, this is about as close as any to Fira. We would stay again!

Santorini: Hotel Villa Odyssey: "What a great find in Fira!!"
Jul 11, 2006  Bigwellies, London

My boyfriend and I stayed here for just one night in early July 2006, and they treated us like we were staying a week. The room was only about £40 for the night on a hostel booking website, and I was expecting something really basic located halfway into the wilderness. After a dawn flight from London we arrived exhausted, but really pleasantly surprised. The staff were so lovely (althought the lady there quite difficult to understand - language barrier), and the room was really nice with a simple wooden bed and dressers, aircon and white curtains with double doors leading onto our private balcony overlooking the pool (surrounded by gorgeous flowers). The place is about a 10 minute walk into the heart of Fira, which is an amazing town, and we had a completely magical night drinking and eating with stunning views over the caldera, watching donkeys walk up the cliffsides, roaming the many jewellery and boutique shops and generally soaking up the atmosphere.

George at the hotel went out of his way to help us find some friends we were meeting in a nearby port, and was so great we recommended another group of visitors looking for accommodation to stay at Villa Odyssey on the night we left.

Would totally recommend!!

Santorini: Hotel Villa Odyssey: "Villa Odyssey and Santorini were AWESOME!"

My girlfriend and I stayed at Villa Odyssey on Santorini for 3 days in October 2003. The hotel was very nice and the price was very inexpensive ($35). The property was new, immaculately clean, and well furnished. The staff (Yanni and his sister Maria) were VERY friendly and helpful. They picked us up at the port, helped make all of our arrangements (scooter, boat excusions, engagment ring!!!!!) We loved them and their hotel and highly recommend that you stay at Hotel Odyssey. Santorini itself was spectacular. Do not miss this island, as it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We got engaged on the cable car going down the caldera. It was breath taking and couldn't have been more romantic.

When we arrived at the hotel, not only was it beautiful (traditional Cycladic architecture), comfortable, cool, quiet, and featuring a swimming pool, but above all, there was great hospitality!  From the moment we arrived they treated us like family and without even asking, Maria (Yanni’s sister) brought us water and coffee!

We stayed for three nights at the Villa Odyssey in a comfortable and simple room with a private balcony overlooking the pool with a view of the northern face of the island.  The hotel is about a 10-15 min walk to the central town of Fira (this is at a leisurely pace – it’s slightly up hill but not bad at all – I found it to be very peaceful- and you can’t really get lost).  The hotel is 30 sec from the bus stop.  From here you can go to every corner of the island like Akrotiri where there is an archaeological and some beautiful beaches that are only reachable by boat, Perissa another beautiful beach with black pebbles on the northern side, and Oia at the Western most point of the island where the sunset viewing is not to be missed!  There are also restaurants within 5 minutes or less of the hotel (Maria and Yanni will tell you where to go) if you don’t want to venture into town one night.

Above all, if we had questions, Yanni and Maria were ready with answers and help.  They were very informative about what was worth doing and seeing and how to achieve it.
